Mr. Steele completed 4 lessons in which seemed a bit scattered and about him playing more than my children getting their 45 min of lesson time each. After the 1st lesson he pushed for my husband and I to give him a five star rating, we are kind hearted people and decided to go forward with the rating. He was paid in full for the following month of lessons in which the first lesson he cancelled due to being ill with the flu. following the next lesson he cancelled and indicated he was ill due to altitude sickness and had to return back to his home state immediately. When asked for the full month refund he refunded the month minus $40. When he was asked about the remaining amount he avoided me and was never heard from again.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I will provide a comprehensive "Book" that the student can keep and use a referrence manual for years to come. I will ask the student to name "3" songs that they would love to play if they could. I will then transcribe the three songs, and every lesson I will teach one of the songs to the student. So I combine Theory, Songs, and "Street Smarts" all in every lesson. As I like to say "Every Song Is Its Own Lesson". Eventually, the goal is to get the student to the level where he/she can play anything they hear, and teach themselves music.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have studied with some of the great masters of our time: "Juan Mercadal", "Fareed Haque", "Joe Diorio". I have attended Berklee in Boston, Univesity of Miami School of Music, and am a graduate of the Chicago Academy of the Arts in Chicago. ("fame school")

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

If the lesson is Local I charge 25$ an Hour. I know its bellow the going rate, but I'm more interested in helping people than making money.

How did you get started teaching?

I have taught privately for longer than I can remmember, and was the Guitar Instructor at the "Gann Music" store in Northfield IL.

What types of students have you worked with?

All types, and styles, and levels.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I LOVE playing for the ladies guild at the Brandon Catholic Church. They Love my Brazilian Style Music.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The Internet provides an enormous amount of information, its easy!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What Style of Music they are interested, and if the Teacher is proficient in that genre, and is a Professional Musician.
