About
Hello, my name is Charles Askew. I am the CEO/ Program Director for MFC Studios. I've been a professional music trainer for more than 40 years however; our programs is very current and exciting. I have many students that have achieved certification status and degrees in music. All of our program curriculum is morally based. We teach most genres. We teach all levels from beginners to advance. I have mastered the art of finding the untapped talent inside of a student and driving them to become mature musicians. I am also a playwright, recording artist, producer and author. Most of our instructors are certified or have more than 10 years’ experience as an instructor.
I acquired my initial music training at Norwalk Music Studios and continued intermediate classes in classical music and theory under the instruction of Mrs. Jane Miller then continuing to foster my musical training at Johnny Sabsack Music Studios, Norwalk, CT.
In 1972 I founded the Norwalk Youth Community Concert Choir, which was comprised of youth and young adults. The choir traveled throughout the East coast rendering gospel music. Under my direction. The choir expanded to more than 200 participants over a seventeen-year period.
I have served as the Minister of Music at several ministries in Fairfield County, CT. I completed a two year correspondent management course at County Schools Inc. New Haven Ct. in 1983. I am a 2003 graduate of Virginia Union University Theological Seminary in conjunction with the Connecticut Institute of Christian Religion in Communications and Christian Doctrine. I became a licensed to preach the Gospel in 1996 and ordained as a clergyman in 2003. I am also a member of the Hampton University Minister’s Conference Organist and Directors Guild, Hampton, VA. I currently teach music for the Lighthouse after school program for the city of Bridgeport Ct. teaching voice and music theory at four elementary schools where I develop a youth gospel choir of 80-100 students annually.
It will be our pleasure to have you join our family of artists
It is a pleasure to see my students excel. I have several special needs students, most of which have an exceptional gift. We present recitals three seasons of each year. Spring, Summer and Fall. To see the look of utter fulfillment in the eyes of the attending family members and friends is second to known. From the youngest and most timid student to the most experience and confidant, they all bring joy to my heart. This is why my years of training students has never grown tedious. I love to see the passion that music brings to individual lives.
