About

Hello! I have been teaching in the area for over 15 years. During our lessons we will focus on many areas of development. Theory, technique, chord, scale and modal studies, reading music and much more. I also customize my lessons to each student so the approach is completely customized and paced for you or your child! I will incorporate songs you or your child like(s) to keep the lessons fun and interesting. I have been voted "Best of Lessons.com" and I have many references and I can share contact info if you would like. I work really well with beginners and am very patient. I teach out of my music and recording studio in North Haven.

My passion for music began as a young child learning the piano. In junior high my interests turned to the guitar and I began to study many different styles. In high school I was featured in RELIX Music Magazine as an artist "on the verge" and decided that music would be my life’s work. After studying music and music production at Hofstra University and School of Audio Engineering in New York City. I went on to pursue a career as a teacher and recording/touring artist, music and video producer.

Some personal highlights in my music career have been jamming in the studio with Mick Taylor from the Rolling Stones and sharing the bandstand with many bands including Blues Traveler, Govt Mule(members of the Allman Bros Band), Galactic, members of Frank Zappa's band, members of The Parliament Funkadellic, and Vince Wellnick of the Grateful Dead.

Steve has done a great job teaching me what I needed to stay interested and progress at a fast pace. The lessons are fun and approachable and after trying to pick up guitar a few times, I feel like I am finally getting into it. He is also flexible and reasonable with scheduling. All around good teacher.
