About

My teaching approach: My approach is very laid back. I like to focus on things that are fun and will keep the student interested but at the same time incorporate technical things that are essential for the development of the student. A lot of people make fundamentals boring but it doesn't have to be that way. As far as professional experiences i've performed with Jimmy Greene, Aaron Goldberg, Myron Walden and more. I've opened up for The Jim Hall Trio, The Machine and Darcy James Argues Secret Society. My influences are: Scott Henderson, Allan Holdsworth, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Joe Satriani, Carlos Santana, Wes Montgomery, Ed Bickert, Joe Diorio My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas: My studio in Seymour or the students home for an additional gas charge Guitar Techniques: Guidance In Equipment Selection, Song Writing, Scales and Exercises, Music Theory, Reading Music, Jamming Skills, Improvisation, Performance, Vocal Accompaniment, Slide Guitar, Fingerstyle, Open tuning, Rhythm guitar, Lead guitar Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: I'll ask them questions to see how long they've been playing and if they've played before, ask them to play me something that they know so I can observe their technique to see where they're at and decide where I need to start with that particular student. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: With a typical beginner/intermediate student, the lesson would consist of learning a song, breaking the song down and analyzing it in order to learn the theoretical aspect behind it and depending on the dedication of the student, technical exercises to help develop speed and proficiency. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: The student who comes in every week excited to learn and ready to focus on everyhing I will show them. Any student that shows interest and asks questions always makes me very happy. The main thing is practicing however, if the student is practicing on a consistent basis then that is more than enough for me.

Music truly shows people the rewards that come out of hard work and dedicaiton. To me music is one of the most important aspects of life and is something that is enjoyed by everyone. I love helping kids and adults alike on their path of finding what works best for them and what really inspires them to want to keep pushing forward and advancing themselves.
