Paul does a great job assessing where the student is and pushing them to the next level. Paul is teaching my 11 yr old son how to play bass guitar. He is helping my son translate his prior piano knowledge to a new instrument in a way that is fun and highly effective. Paul is very encouraging and engaging, and the lessons are perfectly paced to maintain my son's interest for a full hour. I can't imagine a better fit for my son and I highly recommend him!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I always like to see what they already know. Get a baseline of the basics down like reading music, scales, chords, key signatures. I always try to teach at their level and make sure they completely understand the teachings.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been teaching private lessons since high school, have tuaght at 2 private music schools in the past, currently working at 3 music schools and online as well as my own freelance work.

I have a bachelors of music, studied at yale school of music, university of bridgeport and georgia tech university.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching in high school as my music professor wants me to help out other students. I fell in love for teaching and music theory.

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked with young students as young as 5 ears old as well as more older students around 55 years. I can teach very beginner to extremely advanced as well as ap theory and college test prep.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

You want to like your teachers personality and make sure your teacher fully listens to you to understand your questions, concerns, practice etiquette and more.
