About

We teach IKCA Chinese Kenpo,Taiki Ryu Judo and Eskima. We tailor a martial art to the individual, not a individual conforming to the art. A student can pick up striking, grappling and weapons in a short amount of time depending on the dedication, athelthism and want to learn. Our focus is self defense. I expect students that wish to compete to be able to take the knowledge into any arena and do well.

I enjoy watching students progress in the art. Showing their indivduality, teamwork and help build a place where people learn knowledge is power, humbleness keeps a open mind to learning and ignorance, pride can get people hurt. A important lesson for anyone at any point in life.

Look for a teacher that knows the reasons of why everything is put together the way it is. someone that can adjust the art to fit you better. some movements will be better for someone shorter, bigger, lanky, stalky etc. having a teacher that can recognize what your issues will probably be is important. some teachers are more ridged in their teachings. others maybe more loose. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. stay open minded and challenge what you know to get stronger at it. good luck with finding a good teacher. =)

what kind of confortation do i fear most ? will someone grab me ? will someone punch me ? will someone use a weapon on me ? do I want to know how to destroy a person ? do I want to know how to restrain a person ? how does this help me physically ? how does this help me mentally ? how can this help me emotionally ? whats the difference between sport and self defense ? do I train with pads or no pads ? Am I willing to go through the pain, blood and sweat to reach my goals ? what is body hardening ? Do i want this to be a lifestyle ? how will this fulfill the needs/wants in my life ? depending on the answers to these questions determine what kind of art will fit you. feel free to ask me about these questions or anything at all.
