About this pro

My service as a teacher and Director stand out because of my dedication to all of my students. I created specific curriculum for each student on a case by case basis. My students have been accepted to college level music schools as well as magnet high school music programs.  I have several students who have taken part in international piano competitions as well.

I enjoy being apart of the development of my students. I feel the arts are an important part of cognitive development for grade school students particularly.  I have seen students excel when they have music arts as a part of their development.

Mr. Leonard is a very professional and exceptional musician who has a unique ability to connect with his students. My daughter and other children with whom he has worked often says that he is engaging and that he does a great job of explaining expectations.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

My process for new students vary according to the student. I generally get a feel for the overall goals for my adult students in terms of future live performances or cleaning up piano skills from past lessons. I have a set curriculum for my beginning students with Theory, lessons and Ear training.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied piano performance and composition at the New England conservatory. I continued my education at Westminster conservatory for my Master's in Piano performance and conducting.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My pricing is based on a case by case system. Discounts are given to multiple students in a family.

How did you get started teaching?

I've been teaching for as long as I've been playing. My first piano teachers would have me assist them with their students.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students from varying age groups and backgrounds. I teach studenrs from age 4 to 80 plus. Some of my students pursue piano as a hobby and others are professional and semi professional.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Performing with Andrea Bocelli at Capitol one arena.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Having a weighted piano/keyboard will help with the development of the fingers. Download a metronome app for practice sessions.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Is this something I will be dedicated with? Will I have enough time to fit at least 45 minutes toward practice sessions?
