About
I'm Chef Jimmy Warren and I am a founding partner of Big Mozz in NYC. I've recently moved back down to Boca Raton to be closer to family. While I was in NYC, I've taught hundreds of people in private cooking lessons and have cooked for thousands. Before Big Mozz, I went to Culinary school at the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC and worked at fine dining restaurants such as Del Posto, a four star New York Times and Michilin Star restaurant in NYC.
My favorite part is to see how much enjoyment people get when they successfully make their own food. Cooking shouldn't be intimmedating, and I know I can make cooking easy and fun for everyone.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically pick up the ingredients myself and explain why I pick certain groceries over others. Optionally, we could meet at the store and I can teach you about picking correct produce and better brands. Then we set up the kitchen and get our mise en place ready (prepped items). I'll go over knife skills and tips and tricks in the kitchen to make you a better cook. We then cook together and I encourage questions as we go. I'll teach you about seasoning as you go to build flavor without using too much salt.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a culinary degree from the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC. I also have fine dining experience from several restaurants. I have built my own company called Big Mozz from the ground up. Withing the company I have taught a hundred employees how to properly cook my food. We also offered cooking classes at our restaurant, where I personally taught hundreds of people how to make mozzarella and other foods.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing depends on the class. My price does not include the cost of ingredients.
