Guitar Lessons By Jay Fedele
About
Fun! That is really at the heart of what I like to provide students. There is a lifetime of learning that comes with the guitar and that journey should be one of joy, excitement, amazement and reward!
I've spent my career recording, touring and teaching professional musicians how to expand their understanding in a way that is both helpful and fun.
My brain is a creative mind (like yours I imagine), making easy understanding of difficult concepts is what I excell at!
Seeing a student playing their favorite song or conquering a difficult technique that they can share with their family and friends what I love about teaching!
Taking it to the next level is always a learning experience for both myself and my students!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If you're just starting out or a seasoned player, there is always something new and exciting to learn!
What you want to learn is usually the first step. Rock, blues, jazz, country, they all share common ground. What may have started out as a desire for Blues can quickly become a love of Jazz!
Taking the first step is just the begining of a rewarding and fun experience!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For more than 30 years my passion for the guitar continues to grow!
As a beginner my journey began with Jazz school in Harlem New York learning from the great masters of the art.
Later on, taking one-on-one lessons from teachers took my playing to the next level. Providing a clear and deeper understanding of the instrument.
As a recording and touring professional I learned the inner workings of songwriting, composition, record business and traveling the world discovering new forms of music and making great friends along the way!

How did you get started teaching?
Early on I realized that one-on-one private lessons provided the clarity of understanding of confusing or challenging concepts.
My ability to grasp difficult techniques was easily explained and less daunting than what I had originally thought, helping to expand my knowledge in a quick, concise and rewarding way that only a one-to-one environment and teacher can provide.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all ages from young students just starting out to experienced touring & recording professionals wanting to grow their kowledge, prepare for a record or get ready for a tour.
Taking the first step is just the beginning of a fun and rewarding journey!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I really enjoy the local Bradenton Blues Festival. It brings exceptional Blues artists from around the world to share their talents with the community.

Music brings people together and has been a deeply enriching experience for me. It has provided an endless source of enjoyment, fun and amazement that I'm passionate about sharing with others.
If you are considering taking lessons, make sure to communicate what you love about music, what you would like to learn and know that the results will come!
There is so much to learn (i'm learning every day!) and although teachers may differ from one another, you will surely learn something new!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If you're a new student looking to play the guitar for fun or a determined player with a desire to achieve results that will help grow your career the only question is, are you ready? Cast away your fears, drop your doubts and dive head first into it.
Life is a journey not a destination!
