Ok, so Ive only taken 2 lesso ns so far. Greg is fun and different from any other music teacher Ive worked with! Start out by learning songs instead of scales, all while learning the notes at the same time. Gives positive encouragement and is an awesome guitar player as well.

Greg is a great teacher with amazing knowledge and patience! He works at a comfortable pace for my 9 year old son and reassures him when he gets frustrated with notes. My son enjoys learning from him - even through the pandemic in an online format (and my son is not a fan of Zoom). I would highly recommend Greg for guitar lessons!

Greg is a Berkeley educated guitarist and musician. I’ve had guitar teacher that only know rock or blues etc. Greg is versatile and can easily teach any style you’d like to play in addition to The theory behind it. Do not book Greg if you don’t want to be challenged and learn the actual notes on the fretboard or get better. Book Greg if you want an excellent teacher who will call you out and challenge you to exceed your own expectations.

Greg knows a lot about music theory and is able to explain it in a way that makes sense. I believe if I had another teacher or if I had tried to learn guitar on my own, I would still be struggling with guitar basics or would have given up. He has kept me engaged and interested in continuing my musical education. I appreciate the effort and time he puts into teaching me.

    Frequently asked questions

The first thing is to evaluate the students skill level if they are not a beginner.

Then discuss the students musical goals, inspiration for wanting to do music and musical influences.

Next would be to plan lessons to get you going to reach those goals.
