Rosangel’s Piano Studio

About

Rosangel Perez began her piano education 19 years ago. During her teenage years, she attended the Pre-College Program at the Manhattan School of Music, NY. Rosangel has been a top prize winner at various competitions, which offered her an opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall and the Kaufman Music Center, NY. She received a full scholarship to pursue a Bachelor's of Music, with a focus on Piano Performance at the University of Miami. Upon graduation, she obtained a Master's of Business Administration, at Florida International University and is also currently pursuing a Master's in Music Education, with k-12 Certification.

Rosangel's passion is to discover each student's unique learning style and interests. She works with all ages and levels and is willing to adjust to each student in order to make the lessons as fun and productive as possible. It is very important for her to establish comfort and trust with her students. She knows that with the right approach, music can enable her students to achieve happiness and a sense of accomplishment! Each one in their own way.

Please visit Rosangel's website to hear more about Rosangel's professional journey and what the students should expect out of the lessons + student recital/evaluations opportunities.

I enjoy seeing the excitement on my students' faces once they learn something new. A teacher has an incredible power to permanently influence students and my goal is to help my students see how wonderful music is so that it can become a life-long experience. I get to work with all kinds of students and during lessons I often discover that these piano students have other unexplored talents!

Rosangel is an excellent piano teacher! My three daughters adore her. I can see a great progress in every class. She is punctual, kind and makes the class fun. She is always rewarding them and introducing new songs and exercises in order to keep them motivated. Couldnt ask for a better professional.

I took classes with Ms. Rosy and she was very professional, kind and extremely patient with me. Im 24 years old and I had forgotten basic things from many years ago and from the very first class she was very practical and efficient. She made me gain confidence into playing piano after all these years. One of the many things I enjoy about her classes are positive rewards. Sadly, I had to move to another state but I will recommend her to any person of all ages 100% !!

Rosie is the most amazing piano teacher. She has taught my two children for about 3 years now. She is an incredibly skilled pianist, and we are spell-bound when we have seen her perform. She teaches the kids with patience and is able to coax the best out of them. We absolutely love having her as our piano teacher.

    Frequently asked questions

When working with a new student I offer a 15 min interview (free of charge), which is designated for the parents, student and teacher to talk about their previous musical experience (if any), what they hope to get out of the lessons, whether they have a keyboard or not, what the student's school work load is like. I understand most students have other activities during their week and I adjust the amount of work I give them depending on what I know they will be able to complete. I would never want to overwhelm the student, on the contrary, I want piano lessons to be fun and something they look forward to.

Pre-College student at the Manhattan School of Music, NY.

Currently pursuing a Master's of Music Education, with k-12 Certification-University of Miami

I received my first students through the Frost School of Music Preparatory program. After that, my piano studio grew by word-of-mouth and by becoming a faculty member at the Miami Conservatory of Music.

Children, teenagers and middle age adults of all levels.

I have also with children on the autism spectrum and adults with learning disabilities.

I have truly appreciated how many of my students were eager to switch to Online Piano lessons during this Covid-19 crisis. This shows persistence and interest from their part. A lot of them are young, and they WANT the lessons, their parents don't have to force them. A student looking forward to their weekly piano lessons is the best compliment I could receive as a teacher.

Don't only look for qualifications. Also look for a teacher you can communicate with, someone who is willing to listen and adjust to your needs as a student. If going to the lessons makes you anxious and scared, this is not the right fit.

What do I expect to get out of the lessons? (Goals)

How much time am I willing to/ can I invest in doing so?

What kind of music do I enjoy listening to most and would like to play?
