About

I started playing guitar when I was about 10 years old. I am 59 now,and since then I've played in several professional bands including doing solo act's.

I love music, and I have a passion for playing music, and passing on my passion and knowledge to others.

I have taught guitar before at First Note music in Cape Coral, and at Leeds Music in Virginia which gives me about 10 years of teaching experience altogether.

I've been out of the teaching game for a few years due to some family and personal problems ,but I'm now ready to jump back in.

I'm both self taught, and I've had several years of formal training. When I"m working with a beginning student I like to teach the fundamentals which is learning how to read music. That means your going to be playing at first these super exciting like Jingle Bells,Twinkle twinkle little star, and Ode to joy. Man those songs really rock(just kidding). At the same time I do like to show people how to play some chords and put them together and make songs out of them. Another words have some fun with it.

I am old school and don't believe in short cuts. I want to show people the correct way of approaching the instrument. The last thing you want to do is start off with bad habits.Bad habits are very hard to break once you get comfortable with them. And I know this from personal experience.

If you want to learn easy short cuts,You tube is a really good place to start

Frequently asked questions

The first thing I want to teach them is the fundamentals.Getting familiar with what's what, learning the notes on the fretboard, how to hold it,how to use your fingers ect.I understand the fundamentals can get pretty boring(and if anybody ever told me that they can't wait to learn how to pluck out the song Yankee doodle, I would be wondering what's wrong with them)I want to start showing them some chords, and having some fun with it ASAP.
