About
I grew up in the age of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, BB King, Jim Croce, John Denver, James Taylor, Funkadelics. I could go on but basically, I am a product of that broad era. I am equally a student, a teacher, and a performer. Musically, I came from street smarts but later became book smart through the likes of University of Tampa, Berklee College of Music, and frankly a lot of practical band and solo experience, curiosity, self-study, reverse engineering, and exploration. I never became a one dimensional guitar player. My passions are equally acoustic and fingerstyle as is screaming Zep, Floyd, and Hendrix solos. I am just as happy in a band soloing to epic rock songs, as I am sitting on a stool, playing fingerstyle Adele songs. It seems for every musical lesson, I can relate quickly to artist examples and demonstrate. I have/had students that do strictly fingerstyle acoustic (love it) and ones who want to be Hendrix re-incarnated (love it), students who want to just do Christian music, neo-RnB, Country, rock, or singer-songwriter stuff (love it). I am well-versed in all the intricacies of guitar playing, music theory in general, songwriting theory, live sound and equipment, some recording and production. I know piano although I am not a great piano player. I am available to answer questions during the week in between lessons so you don't have to wait a week to answer a burning question. Let's do it!
