About

The best part of teaching music and guitar to my students is the lifelong friendships and seeing them grow to be successful in their lives.

What makes my service great is my experience working with all ages and developmental abilities. I'm able to ignite a passion for music, performing, and enjoyment, by creating a nurturing environment that can be built upon.

I've been playing guitar, primarily blues and jazz for 15 years. I hold a B.A. in Music Industry with guitar as my focus instrument. The two time recipient of the Outstanding Intrumental Music award at Western Nebraska Community College. I was also the 2017 NAMM show scholarship recipient into the GenNext program.

Frequently asked questions

I'd start by figuring out what kind of goals could be set so that the lessons are most enjoyable. Then, I'd focus on choosing learning material that works with the students ability to process information and retain the concepts being discussed. After getting the basics worked through we'd then discuss the kind of music that they'd most like to focus on, and from there, choose music that suits their experience and playing style.

I began teaching while attending college as a music student. I started by teaching the value of music, and the positive impact from the students who studied under me saw their progress as motivating to them in numerous ways. Understanding music theory, songwriting skills, and how songs are arranged can be as therapeutic as it is fun.

Students from all age groups, ones that know only a little English, some with disorders such as ADHD, and some who are disabled in other ways.

When I taught components of a typical lesson and the student took in the information and it turned into excitement at all that they have the ability to accomplish, and by the next lesson they were ready to think about being in a band.

Look for someone who's patient and truly has a passion for teaching, as well as someone who strives to make a positive difference in the world.

What type of goals do you wish to reach as a beginner first learning the guitar? These goals could be:

Learn how to play the melody of a favorite song

How to play chords

Putting chords together for a song that you like

Figure out what direction I'd like to take in choosing styles of music.
