About
I adjust my classes to the type of practice you want. If you want to break a sweat and build physical strength, I go with a vinyasa style class, which is a continuous flow of postures through breath. I am also a huge fan of yin yoga, which consists of holding poses for longer periods of time on the floor. It is a miraculous, ultra healing, passive practice where the stretch reaches deep to our fascia, ligaments and tendons. Overtime, our connective tissues become gel-like, which causes pain and slows us down. Yin acts as a lubrication for this, expanding and creating more synovial fluid in our joints. If you struggle with anxiety, stress, depression, etc...we can incorporate meditation into any class. Meditation has been scientifically proven to change the neurological pathways of the brain. It increases well-being, happiness and quality of life. Let me know what your needs and personal goals are, and I will build a class around that.
Yoga has helped me heal physically, mentally and spiritually. I love to share the amazing aspects of Yoga with others. It is so fulfilling to watch a human being gain a greater sense of peace, empowerment and balance!

How did you get started teaching?
In my late twenties, I hit a dark depression. I was looking for something to help get me out of the black hole I felt trapped in. I knew I needed something more than a gym membership. I needed mental, spiritual and physical healing. I had to change the neurological pathways in my brain. I thought negative so much, my brain was programmed to automatically see the worst in everything. I needed a better routine. I needed to break bad habits. I wanted my body to perform at it's best. I yearned to feel good again! I needed to dig down to roots of what was causing my pain. Face it, and be able to move forward. Yoga beacame an effective outlet for me, and continues to big part of my healing process. I wanted to dig deeper into this complex practice, so I signed up for an intensive 200 hour Vinyasa Yoga teacher training program.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with an array of age groups although, I teach mostly adults. I have two years of experience working with athletes (high impact sports). I am currently working on my certificate with NASM (National Association of Sports Medicine) for a Perfromance Enhancement Specialist. I have taught children. Limber bodies and short attention spans! These classes are engaging, disciplined but not forceful, and most importantly, fun! I have also been certified in North Carolina for Child Development.
