About
Welcome! I offer instruction acquired from my 65+ years of experience as a Guitar Player in addition to what is presented in a Lesson Book and may demonstrate what the lesson should sound like. I also supply supplemental material in addition to a Basic Lesson book based on a persons progress and interest. Lessons are available at your home for your convenience.
I like meeting new people and seeing someone accomplish something new.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process for working with a new student is trying to learn a little bit about them and finding out how much the new student knows about the Guitar. Based on that information I can structure a lesson plan that will be best suited for the new student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started learning to play the Guitar (1954?) by watching my father (A Great Guitar Player) and from listening to Radio. I started taking Trumpet Lessons in Grade School and also had 5 years of Private Trumpet Lessons. I also had Piano Lessons for a short period of time (Teacher died). My instrument of choice has been the Guitar which I still continue to play today. From 1965 thru 1994 I was the Guitar Player with the "Bud Wrightington Trio" in the Plymouth, MA area. I have been a Guitar Player with the Ocala Jazz Society for the past 20+ years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My current price is $80.00 for a 1/2 Lesson. Most of the time the Lesson extends to 45 minutes to 1hr. but the price doesn't change. Extended Lessons (beyond 1 hr.) can be arranged for an additional Fee which is usually 1/2 the Basic Fee per additional 1/2 hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I learned at very young age that I had the ability to show someone else what I had learned. After Retiring I decided that some people may benefit from my many years of experience as a Guitar Player if I made myself available.
What types of students have you worked with?
My students have ranged in age from 8 years old to 79 years old....From Rock and Roll Music to Jazz Music.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my students, a 17 year old young lady, decided she would like to take guitar lessons. After several guitar lessons she was about to give up and then all of a sudden everything she had learned finally "CLICKED". She found herself able to play a few songs to her amazement. She was the "STAR" performer at a Recital. All of her practicing payed off! I was "VERY PROUD" of her accomplishment!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Have a phone Consultation with any proposed Instructor before setting up an appointment. Make sure the instructor has a Method or Plan of Action proposed that will make you feel comfortable before starting lessons.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The 1st question a person should think about is "Why do I want to learn to play the Guitar"? 2nd Question: Do I have the time to devote to practicing consistently? 3rd Question: Can I follow Instructions? 4th Question: Do I have the determination to stay with it even if it seems difficult at times?
