The instructors at OCQC provide an Immersive learning environment that enables you to practice real life and intense applicable skills but in a safe environment. The trainers consistently give realtime feedback without disrupting the flow of your training. They encourage working through your technique and training challenges until you get it and are comfortable at your own pace. I have learned soo much in a very short time due to their training methods and philosophy which reinforces the intended goals of mastering close quarter combat behavior and techniques as it involves 100% hands on interaction and numerous repetitions. As a former professional athlete I really appreciate this type of learning. But the absolute best part of training at OCQC is the fun, fellowship and family friendly atmosphere. Everyone is welcomed and they make you feel like family.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We welcome participants of all skill levels. All students will learn basic concepts which we will build on in subsequent classes. Beginning students will receive special instruction with and instructor or an advanced student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our instructors have the distinct honor of being the first US instructors to be certified by SAMI International's Peter Weckauf in Knife Fighting Concept and among the first group based in the United States to be certified as instructors in Panantukan Concept. Our instructors are also privileged to be the first SAMI International instructors based in Orlando, FL. Our owner/lead instructor Ray is also a certified boxing coach with USA Boxing and has trained in several martial art disciplines (Panantukan, Western Boxing, Royce Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Eskrima, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu). Our assistant instructor Myron has trained in Panantukan, Western Boxing, and Eskrima.

How did you get started teaching?

I’ve been training in various martial arts for over a decade. Friends and associate would always ask me to train them so I decided to open a gym.
