About

Lots of experience playing all kinds of music on guitar and bass, and recording. I have toured with Pat Martino, Mike Stern, Charlie Hunter, and others, have run my own venue in Winter Park, Fl for the last 4 years, and also run a jazz label and studio called Blue Bamboo Music.

I've released numerous CDs as a performer and producer. I was a member of the Recording Academy (Grammys) for 18 years. I read, write, compose, and arrange, and I have developed a method for becomming a proficient and professional player.

Chris is a fabulous musician and an excellent instructor. He is able to break down complex processes into discreet drills or building blocks to enhance my technique, speed, tone, and understanding of music theory and improvisation. He is supportive and interested when I write a song and even professionally recorded part of it. Every lesson, we play somethong together and trade off between backup and lead, that alone has helped me with tempo and consistency. I highly recommend Chris.

Chris teaches the whole guitar experience. The character of the instrument, technical skills, the vibe of the community, history, listening, theory that is approachable and understandable- through a logical process one can absorb easily, and chops.
I’ve been teaching my son for many years, but I had exhausted my ability to take him to the next steps - the language of the fretboard , chords relationships, advanced technique, etc. My son has been studying with Chris for some time now and his skills are advancing at a steady pace. He retains what he’s learning because of the teaching technique that Chris utilizes. He builds skills through building logical step by step process that reveals itself over a period of time. His technique is a jigsaw puzzle where each piece represents a part of the overall learning experience. As a guitarist myself, I have learned tremendously from Chris’ abilities with my son. He is the finest music mentor I’ve ever had the privilege to be associated with. My son benefits from his dedication to his students.

I'm 63 years old and began playing guitar at age 9.  I went through the Berklee Method by William Leavitt (privately) and have performed with Herbie Mann, Joe Diorio, Mike Stern, and others.  I taught at University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS, and have been a band leader and side man most of my life.

Requests from fans, and eventually I was invited to teach at University.
