About

Individual one on one lessons tailored to the students strengths and weaknesses to achieve their musical goals. Whether it is writing their own pieces, learning how to strum a few basic chords, to understanding music theory and applying it to your instrument.

I've played professionally for over 30 years throughout the northeast, and since 2010 the central Florida area mainly in the duo SKim. I've helped many students get through the theory courses of several of the areas college programs.

my passion for music is contagious and I love being able to share this. Seeing a students musical growth as we both progress is the greatest reward.

Scott has helped my playing and understanding of music theory immensely through the past couple years of lessons. If you want to take your guitar playing to the next level, I highly suggest giving a lesson with him a try.

Scott has had a profound impact on my son’s quest to learn to play the guitar. He has been helping my son progress steadily for the last two years in the genre that my son picked, classic rock. He has been very accommodating with our busy schedule and always makes sure that my son has the materials he needs to succeed. We are extremely thankful for his talent, his dedication, and his patience.

Scott taught me how to play and read music. He also also opened me up to a variety of different styles of playing and genres of music. Scott is a great mentor, teacher, and friend. I couldn’t recommend anyone better to learn how to play music from.

    Frequently asked questions

Deciding what their goals are musically, both long and short term. Developing good technic to rapidly achieve those goals.

Years of personal study and an extensive personal library of reference material with over 30 years professional playing experience.
I have studied with college degreed music teachers to improve my own understanding and also several guitar teachers over the years for improvement of my own technical ability.

To be discussed later, all in flux at the present time

from the beginning, just a small circle of  family friends. Until the son of the local family owned music store suggested I teach for their store and it snowballed from there.

Teaching since 1991, I've worked with different types of physical disability, mentally and emotionally challenged individuals as well. All have achieved some sort of satisfaction through creating music. The most challenging student would be the rhythmically impaired, they require the most patience of all.

Ask if you will be learning "why" and not only what to play

What their musical goals are? Do you want to learn to read music? What style of music you're most interested in learning to play?
