About

My teaching approach:

I teach with an emphasis on correct execution and technique, to not only get students playing as fast and as well as possible, but also to avoid future problems and injury resulting from improper technique and prolonged bad habits. I play through multiple guitars including a Jackson Soloist, LTD-MH and EC series, Epiphone Les Paul Custom, MKH 7 string LP, as well as Schecter, all ran through my 5150 head, and either my Avatar 4x12 w/ v30s or my matched 5150 cab that was purchased from my friends in Trivium.

My influences are:

Matt and Corey from Trivium, many metal acts such as Children of Bodom, Cripper, Chimaera, Akrea, Callejon, the list goes on, ranges in influence from Evanescence to Nirvana, Green Day, Pop Music, Greg Howe, Paul Gilbert, John 5, Jason Becker, Stetina, Guthrie Govan, Jazz, funk, fusion, just about everything..

My guitar lessons take place in:

The student's home

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

I am unavailable for most of Tuesday and Thursday, other days are flexible.

Guitar Techniques:

Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment Selection.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

Determine their inherent strengths and weaknesses, and study closely where their faults lie and where improvement is needed. I asses by multiple factors from a personal and professional standpoint; muscle use, finger tension and dependency, wrist shape, sound and expression, posture, technique etc.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

I tailor each lesson to the individual student's needs. I do not teach out of a set book (unless requested), I start with assessing the student's current abilities and strengths, and introduce important information relative to playing and execution that most guitar teachers do not emphasize in their lessons.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

Someone who wants to learn, not only how to play but how to progress and build, certainly someone who enjoys guitar and wants to express themselves fluidly.
