My teaching approach:

My lessons are 100 percent structured around each student's individual goals and needs. From there we work together to develop a powerfully effective practice schedule that will keep them motivated and on track. The quality of the lessons is always valued more over the quantity of the information that is presented to keep each student excited to learn and minimize the potential to get overwhelmed. Every two weeks we sit down and review the short term and long term goals and we adjust the schedule and learning methods based on their own progress and accomplishments.

We do an assessment of their answers to the evaluation form that is submitted, then we establish their short term and long term goals and develop strategies within their practice schedule and lesson format to reach those goals.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

We start by reviewing the previous week's materials and addressing any questions and concerns, moving on to further reinforcing concepts presented before moving on to new material. We will regularly review the student's practice schedule and update it based on their progress and accomplishments. I cover many different topics in a geometric growth strategy that focuses on one benefit that is transferable to many others to speed up their progress!

Because I only choose to work with the most serious and committed musicians, I keep the standards of what I provide very high. The kind of students I choose to take on have the commitment, persistence, dedication, and resilience to meet and exceed their musical goals. It is because of this that each and every one of my students benefit greatly from these higher standards of teaching and learning.
