master's intern program for teacher's preparing to teach music
I crave the excitement of starting beginning students as it is always fresh and inspiring! Completely satisfying are the diagnostics of helping more advanced students find what is holding them back, correcting the issue, and seeing them regain confidence and reach the next level! I also revel the fact the musical instruction emboldens students in all areas of their lives, academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and musically, and they find where they "fit" as human beings in our ever complex and evolving society. When coaching the most advanced students by themselves or in chamber music the subtleties of musicality, phrasing, expression, listening and reacting as a group, and becoming generously aware of all that is going on musically is one of the most rewarding moments in a great teacher's existence!
