Ben Lougheed Guitar Lessons

My teaching approach: Ben is an accomplished classical guitarist who has been playing for more than two decades all over the world. He was raised on the Suzuki method and is now one of the only Suzuki certified guitar teachers in all of Florida. Many aspect of the Suzuki philosophy, such as learning in small steps, a positive environment for teaching, parent involvement, having success on every level, and daily listening, appear in all areas of Ben's teaching. My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio or the student's home Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours: Availability Varies Guitar Techniques: Lead guitar, Fingerstyle, Performance, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: This will vary between student. Most lessons with beginners start with learn the parts of the guitar, basic rhythms, and the correct posture for playing. For more advanced students I like to have them play a piece or two for me so I can determine their level of playing and how to best help them improve. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: Lessons typically begin with some technical exercises, then we review older pieces, and then work on the newest piece. For younger students I often like to use a game in one or more of the phases of a lesson. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: Excited, smart, dedicated, and willing to try new things.
