About

My teaching approach:

I believe that you learn more quickly and more thoroughly when you are excited about the song or style being taught. Students can learn all of the elements of playing through almost any song. Keeping a student's interest and attention are key to playing success. That's why I work with the student to create the lesson plans, to help them as musicians and gaining an understanding of music theory.

My influences are:

Jimmy Page, Alex Lifeson, Jeff Beck, Elliot Easton, Andres Segovia, Andy Partridge, Eric Johnson, John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Edge

My guitar lessons take place in:

The teacher's studio or the student's home

Guitar Techniques:

Guidance In Equipment Selection, Recording and Production, Song Writing, Scales and Exercises, Music Theory, Reading Music, Performance, Fingerstyle, Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

I use the first lesson to allow the student to get to know me and discuss musical influences, musical goals, and evaluate technique and competency through mutual playing and discussion.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

The structure of the guitar lessons are totally dependent upon desires and direction (if expressed) of the student. Otherwise, we learn basic techniques through practicing songs the student may want to learn.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

Motivated, open minded, and patient
