I have been teaching guitar for 3 years and I absolutely love it! I use all kinds of techniques to teach my students from audio recording their playing to dry erase board schooling style. I mainly teach with my classical nylon guitar but I will teach on steel string acoustic or electric if it is preferred by my students.My influences are:

I first ask the student what their musical past is before having them play. Once my new student plays I discuss their playing and I assess whether they have a good amount of potential or if they have a good amount of knowledge so I don't waste their time and money with months of lessons. I'm still a student myself so I know how it is.A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
Guitar lessons are 30 min to 1 hour. I start my lessons with some exercises to warm up then onto a piece that has been discussed and/or played in a prior lesson. We will work with each composition in sections making sure all questions and problems have been solved.The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
My ideal guitar student is just a person with drive and commitment. Practice is key and if a student has the drive and commitment to learn they will be successful.
