About
Having played for nearly 30 years, I really enjoy sharing what I've learned with others! I'm particularly good at helping beginners get started and build momentum with developing your chops. Sometimes I'm pretty blown away by how quick some of my students start picking it up when they've had time to learn some of the fundamentals of playing guitar.
I've never taught anyone to sing and play simultaneously but would love the opportunity to teach it and see what kind of results a student gets.
I taught one student as a beginner and then years later we crossed paths again.. she had stuck with it! Not only that, she had travelled internationally and played with other musicians with different playing styles and she was blowing me away with all of these cool sounds that I didn't even know how to make. That was an extremely satisfying experience to realize that I had once been the teacher... and years later she was teaching me!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will spend some time discussing basic theory and more basic concepts and processes around playing guitar. Then we will move into practical action steps to get you making noticeable progress as quickly as possible.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually charge about $40 for a 45 minute lesson.
I'm working to develop an ongoing program that would be a one time payment but would be meant to take a few months to work through and implement into your playing.
How did you get started teaching?
In 8th grade we had a guitar class in school and I had already been playing for 7 or 8 years at that point. I would help other students learn the guitar so they could get a passing grade.
As the years went on I gave lessons here and there to different people and at this point I've taught a good number of people, several of whom were complete rookies.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've mostly taught beginners but do have experience teaching long time players the basics of music theory.
