About
Greetings, music and the arts in general have always been a passion for me. There is no other form of communication that has such vast depth and connection between humans and even other animals as the arts. As a singer and songwriter music is one that I hold very close to my heart.
My dream for my students is that they learn that art, as magical and romantic as it can seem, is a skill and you can build from anywhere you are. My past students have felt they have no potential, I firmly believe that is not true of anyone and through hard work, encouragment, and honest kind feed back anyone can reach the goals they set. I desire to teach my students how to give themselves the right tools to get them started on building their skills with my help and learning how to continue once they outgrow me or anything I have to offer. Music is a journey through your mind, body and heart, it can teach you so much more than singing or playing an instrument.
I have been singing longer than I have even been able to talk, more on that ahead. In guitar I am self taught and can give you the basic tools to grow as a guitarist, basically beginners. I majored in Music Education at the University of South Florida where I specialzed in Voice. I have live performance expirience and deep interest in Composition and Music Theory because I write my own music, because I believe it can deepen your abilities as a mucisian and understanding of the beauty music holds as well.

Frequently asked questions

I would like to know what your goals are and why then we can make a plan from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Seeking a Bachlors in Music Education
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am not sure what is resonable, I would say $10 per half hour to begin with. I don't believe that money should keep anyone from reaching their dreams, I will work with you, have no fear.
How did you get started teaching?
I started general teaching in Sunday schools and my intrest grew as I learned the basics of child psychology. I started teaching music during my pre-internship at USF, and have only given lessons to friends.
What types of students have you worked with?
During my pre-intership I taught general music to students K-5, most of my students have been adults for basic voice lessons.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My most cherished performance was a few months ago after a very dry spell I decided to take the stage again and it was an absolutly beautiful feeling. I was surprised at how much everyone enjoyed my music. It was a good lesson to never give up.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
With any teacher you must feel comfort and trust. If anything leads you to feel you cannot trust someone then don't. Music is a very tender and personal journey and it can be very damaging to your heart and body to put yourself in the wrong hands. If a teacher advises you to do something that hurts you and they continue to advise you to do it after you have shared that with them, look for a new teach.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals, and dreams, what do you believe about yourself and your skills, what have others told you about your skills that could be harmful or helpful?
