About
I have been an orchestra director and private lesson teacher for 25 years! Because of this, I am able to help students prepare for Solo/Ensemble, Master Musician, All County/All State Auditions, college/music festival/or other auditions, and seating tests. Beginners welcome too!
I offer lessons on violin, viola, cello, bass, and piano.
I have performed with The Who, Celtic Woman, Il Divo, and Hanson.
Muisc is my life! I attended 4 fine arts magnet schools growing up and then attended USF for music. I have 3 degrees in music/music education and came in 2nd place in SHAR'S Teacher Appreciate Nationwide music competition.
It also gives me the opportunity to perform with some of my musical idols. I've played concerts with The Who, Weird Al, Celtic Woman, & Il Divo.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The most important part is figuring out ability level and goals. What do you wish to achieve from taking private lessons and how can I help make this possible?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
25 years of being an orchestra director/private lesson teacher in Hillsborough County
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I prefer hour lessons so that we have time to work on scales, etudes, and solos. Lessons are $40 an hour but I often charge an additional $5 if the travel distance is more than 30 minutes in each direction.
How did you get started teaching?
I attended USF for music education in 1992 and earned my BS in Music Education in 1996. I immediately went to work in Hillsborough County as a string speciailist, teaching at 3-5 schools at a time.
What types of students have you worked with?
All of them! I have worked with students from 6-75 years ago with all different levels and abilities. I am also gifted certified and have worked with ESE students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Playing with The Who! I was just hired to play 2nd violin for the 2 stadium shows in Tampa/Miami and we just rehearsed with the band last week in West Palm Beach.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who loves music!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be honest and upfront! The more I understand about your needs, the better I can help you achieve them.
