Yogi Mandhi provided an ultimate, personalized session that was both relaxing and invigorating. I was very happy with each experience and plan to continue to work with her.

She was very nice. She showed up on time. I needed more help getting into positions and more feedback when I was or wasn’t. I need a lot of instruction. 😐

Mandy is an excellent and very kind teacher! She tailors my lessons so I can improve steadily at my own pace and goes out of her way to make our lessons fun!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First, I like to get an assessment of your current state of health including any past or current health issues or past injuries. I will also ask what areas you would like to work on through a free phone consultation. I will then use this information to carefully craft a YOUnique yoga lesson catered just for you! I will also provide a video playlist to get you started, a music playlist to keep you going, as well as app suggestions for extra practice. During our session, I will demonstrate and explain the basic principles of yoga, insure you have correct posture for safety throughout the session, and will assist with making adjustments/modifications as needed. This will insure you receive a lesson that is safe and of the highest quality of instruction.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been practicing and teaching yoga for 14 years now. I originally started with a professional licensed teacher and followed her mentorship teaching yoga at Shapes Total Fitness for Women in Brandon. I have also taught yoga at various elementary schools where I worked at (I am also a school teacher but currently on leave to obtain my Masters in Education.) I currently teach private one-on-one sessions for all levels and abilities, as well as small and large groups and special events!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Private yoga sessions for one individual are $60 an hour with an additional $0-$10 for traveling expenses.

Meditation sessions are $50 an hour (plus additional if traveling.)

Corporate yoga/meditations sessions are from $50-$100 offering sessions from 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and hourly sessions.

I offer discounted rates for prepaying multiple classes (for the month or a set number of classes.)  I also provide discounts for multiple students attending the class.

Discounts for teachers, students, and senior citizens.

How did you get started teaching?

I started practicing yoga when I was 19 years old and have been practicing and teaching for 14 years now. I always loved gymnastics and cheerleading as a child mainly because of the stretching involved. I remembered always feeling relaxed after a good stretch. Yoga introduced a whole new world where breathe work, focus, and attention was brought into the picture. I immediately noticed how calm I felt after doing yoga and never wanted to stop. I continued my practice throughout my first pregnancy and noticed the benefits especially during labor. It was an easy delivery! I can honestly say yoga has changed my life and for the better!

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with all types of clients from children, to the wise, to everything in between.  I have taught women as well as men, formal whole group class settings, small group lessons, at elementary schools, as well as one-on-one private sessions. Did you know yoga originated in India and was mostly done by men?  Yoga is really for everyone!

I can teach introduction to yoga sessions, Vinyasa (Power), Hatha (Basic yoga), Yin (Hot Yoga), Kundalini (Yoga Flow), Prenatal, Restorative, and flexibility training.

I also can provide yoga for special events: At construction sites, office meetings, retirement homes, and at special places such as parks, beaches, or in the comfort of your home...anywhere you have space and participants willing to get their stretch on!  Let's get creative!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I most recently helped a male client gain flexibility in his back after only one session! He currently works in construction and after our session he stated he hadn't had that type of flexibility in his back since he was a child! I love helping people feel better reaching their most optimum health levels through yoga!

I'm hoping to bring yoga everywhere! At construction sites, in the office during meetings, at the beach, retirement homes, school functions, resorts, anywhere yoga could be beneficial!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Before our first session I will ask you what your current level of fitness is, your overall health, if you have any injuries or areas of pain, or any chronic health issues.  I will also ask what areas you would like to work on including flexibility, strength, mental clarity, and goals you wish to obtain with your practice.  After our consultation via phone, text e-mail, or through Thumbtack.com I will eagerly start crafting a YOUniquely catered lesson just for YOU!  YOU deserve it!!!
