Chris Latour is a soloist/accompanist and teacher. He is the owner of C Sharp Music Academy in Acton ( Halton Hills) , Ontario.Chris began his piano studies at the age of 9 with Joanne brown in his hometown of Georgetown, Ontario. During high school he continued his studies with Haydn Evans. Chris has worked as an Accompanist for Choirs, Soloists, and examinations. He also does solo performances for Weddings, Celebrations and Ceremonies.Chris attended Mohawk College where in 2009 he graduated with Honours in the Classical Music Program. At Mohawk, he studied classical piano with Pamela Van Weelden and Judy Hunter. In 2008 he received a full academic scholarship from the Steel Town Friends of Mohawk Music. In his 3rd year he won the chance to play his first piano concerto accompanied by a small orchestra.After Graduating from Mohawk Chris continued to teach full time before opening C Sharp Music academy in 2012. Chris has also continued his studies with Pamela Van Weelden and is working towards completing his A.R.C.T Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in the near future.Chris owes a very special thank you to two very important people in his life. The first is Mrs. Lynda Sharpe who was the music teacher at George Kennedy Public School. She was the first person to guide him towards a lifelong passion for music and teaching. Secondly his parents who since the day Mrs. Sharpe called home and suggested he take private lessons did everything they could do encourage and support him.
