About

We have been doing lessons for the public since the inception of Shorter University. I am a Nationally Certified Teacher of Piano as well as have a Masters in Piano Pedagogy.

Our students consistently place in the top in Georgia Music Teachers Competition as well As the National Federation of Music Club Junior Festival.

Students have many opportunities for performance here at the university with the other students in our program.

It is such a joy to take a student and see how far I can take them and watch them grow and learn to play beautifully and confidently.

I have been teaching for 50 years and was recognized for this accomplishment by the Georgia Music Teachers' Association of which I am a member. I am a member of the ROme Music Teachers as well as the National Association of Music Teachers

Started teaching in college as part of our pedagogy course and have been teaching ever since.

I have taught all kinds of learning disabled children, low vision children, blind children, and even deaf children.  I teach all ages from 5 through Adults.

We just had our fall recital where all the children performed and everyone was able to get through their piece without stopping.

Always find a teacher that is trained in pedagogy as they will know what to do with the student and how to properly teach them without doing harm physically from using their hands and arms improperly.

The student should have some idea of goals that they wish to accomplish as well as knowing that one cannot learn to play unless you are willing to put in practice time each and everyday.

I always ask what kind of music are they wishing to play.
