AM Guitar Works
About
Alan Morrison has been playing the guitar and bass for over 35 years and teaching lessons throughout those years. "The guitar, and music in general, has been a great source of enjoyment for me. My goal is to help my students learn the guitar so they can enjoy the many benefits of playing an instrument. I believe in starting out with the basics, such as reading music and learning where the notes and chords are on the guitar. I also start teaching songs at the first lesson. From there we can go to more advanced things, like learning specific songs, or improvisation."
Alan has played in various bands since the age of 16 and enjoys many different musical styles. He is currently lead guitarist for the band Identity Crisis, a 12 piece classic rock band.
He teaches guitar, bass, ukulele, and mandolin.
I have been passionate about music and guitar from a very early age. I moved to the Quad Cities in 1998 and started teaching guitar as a side gig. In 2009 I started AM Guitar Works, a full service guitar shop. I get to spend my days repairing and selling instruments and teaching people how to play them.
