My teaching approach:

I am a graduate of the Atlanta Institue of Music and have been playing for 24 years. I have been teaching for 14 years and have taught people of all ages and backgrounds pointing them in the right direction and helping them achieve their musical goals.

My influences are:

Andy La Rocque, Pete Blakk, Tommy Vetterli, Paul Gilbert, Buckethead, Alex Masi, Derryl Gabel, Brian May, Eddie Van Halen, Thom Yorke, James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine and many more than this list will allow me.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

I always start off the first lesson taking notes and asking questions regarding the student's goals and apirations. I ask many questions to get a gauge on what a student has been exposed to and then I create a lesson plan to help students go in their desired direction.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

I believe in tailoring each lesson to the individual student's passions, interests in musical styles, songs and specific techniques they would like to learn.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

Since I teach 60 to 70 students a week I don't really have an "ideal" student. Instead I enjoy the diverse styles of music and influences that each student brings to the table whatever the level and learning pace.
