About
Master Mike has been extensively training in martial arts and self defense tactics in Hapkido, Ju-jitsu, Kenpo, Tea Kwondo, Shaolin Kung Fu, Ninjitsu, in over a 30 year period. His background further includes celebrity bodyguard, government security, and part-time law enforcement work. Most importantly, since his work backgrounds have placed him in many dramatic real life situations outside of the traditional class room setting where he was forced to physically defend himself, from which he developed a mixed martial art street system called Strekydo (The way of street defense), he teaches the legal knowledge and use of self defense tactics that are specifically designed for the streets.
I enjoy the fact that I get to share self defense knowledge, and information to individuals, and groups of all types of cultural, and racial backgrounds. teaching others how to protect themselves or loved ones against regular and even dramatic situations is not only something that I love to do, but it's to me a calling.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My main theme any martial art that I teach, including mixed martial arts, is the primary element of self-defense. Concerning techniques, I understand that each person learns at a different pace so I make sure to teach things that apply to that individual so that it's not just something that they learn, but that is something that could naturally become a part of their lives.
