About this pro

- 15+ years experience

- I am friendly, patient, organized and knowledgeable. I tailor my lessons to meet my students current level, and I challenge my students to reach the next level of their playing  *see my reviews on lessons.com and my website - www.happystrumming.org :)

- I offer both in-person and/or Zoom lessons.

- All ages welcome!!

I have had the opportunity to play a variety of instruments - ukulele, acoustic guitar, electric bass guitar, mountain dulcimer, banjo, lap steel guitar,  and most recently the mandolin.

Currently I play in a duet group with a fiddle player. In that group I play guitar, banjo, mountain dulcimer along with the cajon drum and tambourine. I also play electric bass and ukulele in a ukulele band. Additionally, I play electric bass and guitar in the Plank Road Folk Music Society String Band.

I've played with various groups - church bands, a traveling band that played at healthcare facilities and retirement communities.

As a teacher and musician, I enjoy helping people learn and/or grow in their guitar and/or ukulele playing!!

I enjoy seeing the excitement on a student’s face when they’ve been able to successfully implement a particular skill and play their favorite songs!

Monica is an excellent teacher. This is my first endeavor learning guitar and Monica has helped me to make considerable progress, In addition, she is both patient and accommodating in her teaching approach.

I’ve learned from a few others who did t seem to have a plan or could carry a lesson from week to week. Monica has been very consistent week to week. I’d recommend her above the others that I’ve sat with.

Monica is a fantastic teacher. I have floundered learning the ukulele. No longer! She has me on the right track, finally. I am impressed by her style but she is open to mine. She is extremely tolerant and easy to work with. A fantastic multi instrument player and is unique in her ability to teach effectively too. I am so happy I found her! I know you will feel the same.

Most guitar teachers can teach the Acoustic guitar itself, but it was the strumming part that is hard to find someone that fully understands the technique. With Monica I'm finally able to really understand and move forward with strumming.
