Ian's Guitar Piano And Songwriting

My son is pretty creative and artistic so when he expressed interest in guitar I was not surprised. After teaching himself somethings on Youtube, my fiancée and I decided to get him lessons and we were lucky enough to hire Ian. We started with 30 minute lessons and our kid has thrived under Ian’s tutelage. Ian is such a natural teacher. He is so knowledgeable and skilled but his best attribute is his patience with understanding your kids skill set and adjusting to them. I have sat in on lessons and Ian was so intuitive with what my son needed during the lesson, he never got off track which is amazing because he can loses focus pretty easily. Our son progressed at such a rapid rate that we moved up the lessons to an hour. It is now my childs favorite part of the weekend and he practices on his own because he loves his new creative outlet. That does not happen if Ian was not cultivating that in my kid. Hire Ian if you want to see your child open up creatively, he is fantastic!

Mr. Ian combined music theory and songwriting together that made music incredibly fun! I started piano with him and quickly learned the fundamentals as well as improvisations. His lessons are equal parts technical skill/theory and creative musical time. He also completely lets the student dictate where the creative direction goes; we got to compose things that came from my mind while he helped expand my musical knowledge and abilities. Overall an excellent teacher!

Ian is a great guitar teacher. He’s fun and makes the “boring parts” of learning guitar fun. He’s very nice and thoughtful, and if you’re struggling with a practice or a technique, he’ll go out of his way to make sure everything is ok. One again, he’s a great teacher and I recommend him to anyone who wants to learn guitar or piano. I look forward to every lesson with him. If I didn’t start getting lessons from him as soon as I did, I most likely would’ve stopped playing.

Ian has a very genuine quality as well as extreme passion for the music arts. Our son worked with Ian for several years, working on piano, guitar, trumpet, and even helped him record music.

To this day, we credit much of our sons continued passion and talent for music to Ians skills, patience, humor, and ability to bring the best out of budding musicians.

I went to Ian with absolutely no experience playing guitar, and very quickly he became a great mentor - his knowledge of music is incredible, he would be able to teach a song just by listening to it by ear. He helped me excel at the guitar in little time, and was extremely flexible with his lessons. Could not recommend a better teacher!
