What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I determine the level the student is starting lesson (beginner, experience, professional etc...). I work with them from their level of expertise and the types of music they enjoy playing.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The student should look for someone who is willing to work with the them at their pace and musical preferences; an instructor that has a passion for teaching and able to instruct a variety of genres. The instructor should have professional experience as a performer on stage and in the studio.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals: personal enjoyment, to become a professional etc. What type of instrument do you want to play? How much time are you willing to dedicate to learning and practicing. What types of music do you want to play.
