PAPE CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC is now expanding its school with daytime and evening classes for students ages preschool through adult. Sheri Poe-Pape, now in her 38th year of music teaching, is a graduate of Northern Illinois University,
the Musikgarten Piano Certificate Program, Wheaton College, a Nationally-Certified Teacher of Music, and was nominated for a Disney American Teacher Award in 1999. Pape is also involved in yearly continuing music education summer workshops and
master classes to keep up on the current pedagogical trends. As a young student, Pape was the recipient of (two) Miss Illinois/America system piano scholarships. and is a former student of Ralph Nielsen, Josephine Feldman and Marilyn Cade.
Pape was once a back-up singer for performers Barry Manilow and Andy Williams, and is a 1985 Congressional Gold Medalist in the Performing Arts. She is also a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature, and the Multi-award-winning children's author and of seventy- six nationally-published articles, stories and poems on internet-based web sites and Gannett News.
Music teachings included in the areas of: technique, theory, sight-reading, sight-singing, solfege, dictation, performance, ear-training, improvisation, music history, music computer lab, music composition. Recitals, summer music camp, and is the Rockford Founder and only teacher of the Carnegie Hall National Voice and Piano Exams,
and Sigma Alpha Iota, a lifetime international music honor society.
Students have gone on to perform in such venues as Carnegie Hall (twice), Grand Ol' Opry, Young Americans, Off-Broadway, CBS's "Star Search," Chicagoland's Pheasant Run Theatre, 40th out of 5,000 during Indianapolis "American Idol" auditions, New American Theatre, Starlight Theatre, Bonzi Productions, Christian Theatre Project, and Children's Theatre Project, while other students have gone on to study
piano and voice at such colleges as St. John's University, Milliken, LSU, NIU, and Bethel, and to teach at Interlochen, the Midwest's "Julliard."
Now available! Remote (Skype) lessons for anywhere in the world. Some after-school openings now available for Spring and Summer lessons. Daytime music lessons are also now available for preschool, home-schooled children and adults. One interview between student and teacher prior to signing on is preferred. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If they come from another teacher, I usually question them in all areas to make sure they got all from previous teacher and that they were taught correctly.
Otherwise, they are taught from structured lesson technique, theory and performance books, along with computer lab, etc.

Yearly workshops.
Nationally-certified in keyboard, Musickgarten.
Nationally-certified and founder of Rockford, Illinois Royal Conservatory of Music national voice and piano exams.

$16.00 per half hour, but paid by the month.
$24.00 for 45 minutes.
