making the student feel comfortable while challenging him to learn. Steve encourages my
son to practice daily! By doing so, the effects of improvement are quick and obvious.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first process is assess what experience and capability the student has with their instrument. The majority of lessons incorporate a method book as well as learning songs by real artists.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I majored in music at College of Dupage in Glen Ellyn, IL from 1999-2001, and I also attended Musician's Institute in Los Angeles, CA from 2001-2002. My training also includes studying privately with heavy metal icon Joe Nunez formerly of Soulfly, and drum philosopher Paul Wertico formerly of Pat Metheny.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I'm currently offering a free trial lesson and a discounted four lesson introductory package at $100 for new students only. This is saving you $75 including the free trial lesson. That's 5 thirty minute lessons for $100. If you don't think we're a good fit after the first trial lesson, there is no commitment to move forward with the introductory package.
Lessons are booked in monthly blocks. I adhere to a lesson policy regarding tuition, cancellations and makeups, and withdrawing from lessons. Lesson rates move to my normal rate after the introductory package.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching at Hix Bros Music in Aurora, IL in June of 2003.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ages 5 and above since 2003.
Most students that start with me are beginners, although I have taught intermediate to advanced players as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My student was invited to meet Johnny Cash's drummer, W.S. Holland, in Nashville, TN just from posting a video of a song we were working on to their Facebook page. She also graced the stage with Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy and American Idol Contestant Kennedy Rickenhouse by 15 years of age.
