About
I have been playing, writing, and teaching music for 25+ years. I have experience in many genres, including pop, rock, folk, country, and classical. I am a multi-instrumentalist, but my expertise lies in piano and guitar. I teach in a fun, engaging manner that gets students playing the music THEY want to play immediately. I integrate theory into each lesson as well, so there is a solid foundation students can build from as they go through lessons/ songs. I can teach beginners, people with basic knowledge, and intermediate players.
I love being able to pass on knowledge, as well as inspring others to play and love music! I am still an active player myself, performing in local groups and doing session (studio) work. In general, I love to play and teach music.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually sit down with the student to see where they're at in their learning. I will align with them on their goals, lay out a plan, and give them some reference materials we'll use in lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of formal education encompassing reading/ writing music, theory, and playing. I also have 25+ years experience playing both instruments I teach, as well as many others. That brings different perspectives into play when trying to find the best way for a student to learn.
