About this pro

The method I use to teach is called "8 Cycle Guitar." It is a method I designed from my experience in teaching over 120 students over the past 7 years. I do this daily for a living, full-time.

I specialize in teaching beginners with little to no prior experience on the guitar. I am very passionate about teaching music to others. I continually study and learn to enhance lessons for my students.

I teach intermediate players to get them to their next level of skill on guitar.

I teach from my home studio in Zion, IL and I also teach online through Zoom, Google Hangouts (Skype is available too). Online service uses free platforms (Zoom, Google, Skype).

I love teaching/coaching my students. I love seeing them progress in skill and witnessing their successes and achievements.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Lesson #1: If absolute a song. If you have experience we do a lot of Q&A so that I can determine what you have learned previously and begin developing a plan of action moving forward.

I use a method I have developed called "8 Cycle Guitar". There are 8 areas of learning that must take place on guitar to achieve a confident musical ability on the instrument.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Over 20,000 hours of study in the subject of guitar.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Guitar Teachers:

$30 per 30 minute lesson.

$40 per 45 minute lesson.

$50 per 60 minute lesson.

Guitar Coach:

$75 per 60 minute lesson.

We offer Silver (6 month prepaid) and Gold (12 months prepaid) lesson options as well.

We offer Every Other Week Busy Adult Guitar Lesson Program.

We offer Family Plans. Buy 1 get 1 free shared family plan and more...45 minute lesson shared by 2 family members, same instrument. Or a 10% discount on multiple family members taking lessons with different instruments (Piano, Guitar, Bass).

How did you get started teaching?

Made the decision to begin and started spreading word of mouth through my family, friends, and Facebook network. Put out flyers and ads every couple months for 6 years. Designed a logo, and apparel line.

What types of students have you worked with?

Ages 4-65. Boys, Girls, Teens, Adults. Beginner to Intermediate level.

I now have a specialized Guitar Coach to teach at an advanced level as well.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

We host live events annually where students get to perform for family and friends. This is like an amped up recital...high energy, and fun. The adults that attend these events typically love them too.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find a teacher who will not only teach you guitar, but will become a mentor and coach in your life, or the life of your children. A teacher who will ultimately become a family friend. Find a teacher that teaches full time as they are more fully invested in what they do.
