I have been teaching martial arts since 1995 including Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Hawaiian Kenpo, Wrestling for Mixed Martial Arts, Self-Defense (reality based weapons, guns and knives), Sambo and Judo.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Individuals come in for a visit where we'll chat about our programs and classes schedule. It also gives me an idea what the potential student is looking to accomplish with our programs, get to know each other and see if this is a good fit for the both of us.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been training in some sort of martial arts for about 35 years, but extensively for the past 25 years.
Among many instructors I am currently ranked by Bill Ryusaki in Hawaiian Kenpo, Royce Gracie in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Gokor Chivichyan in Hayastan MMA System, Benny "The Jet" Urquidez in Kickboxing.
Also I've been training with many Self-Defense and Self-Protection Instructors in reality based weapons (guns and knives)

How did you get started teaching?
Many years ago I found out that I love martial arts and training in martial arts has changed me as a person in every aspect, physical and mental.
I became a much healthier and more confident in myself with every aspect of my life. I figured, everyone should benefit from these skills and that I must help other people get there.
What types of students have you worked with?
Everyone. Men, women, kids, amateur and professional fighters.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have brought individuals from average to Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing Champions in many events at different weight classes.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find your reason for training in martial arts and follow your goal. Locate a school and do your homework on the instructor.
Visit the school and see if that is a good fit for you. Price is not a best reason to start training at a particular school.
Make sure they are teaching what you are looking for. Shop around and get information on various schools, this way you have an idea who is best suited for your needs.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Does the instructor teach what you are looking for?
Is the instructor qualified to teach the particular discipline (credentials)?
Is there an opportunity to make up classes if needed?
