Everyone wants to play for different reasons and as a professional instructor it is my job to make sure students are learning and practicing the most beneficial material.

Students should consider what their musical goals are. Why are you wanting to learn to play? Is it a hobby, do you plan to make a career of this, do just want to learn how to play songs, do you want a thorough understanding of how music works? All these and more will help your instructor pick the best learning path for you.
