Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When starting with a new student, I like to discuss the students musical goals and create a custom learning path to help them achieve those goals. Everyone wants to play for different reasons and as a professional instructor it is my job to make sure students are learning and practicing the most beneficial material.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 21 years of experience playing guitar. During this time I've taught numerous students of all ages.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our lessons are $20 / 30 minutes lesson or $40 / 60 minutes lesson.
We also offer discounts when you sign up for multiple lessons at once! Full details on our website!
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching my friends and family years ago. They began spreading the word and before I knew it I was receiving calls about lessons, teaching people of all ages, especially older teens/ younger adults! It was a hobby that has turned into a career for me and I absolutely love my job!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 5 years old to retirees ready to pursue that life long goal of learning to play guitar. I've had students eager to learn theory and some who just want to rock! Regardless of your goal, there is a path for you and we would love to help you discover it!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do your research! Find a teacher that works for you. Everyone learns differently. I may not be the best teacher for you, and that's ok! The goal is to get you learning the best way for you!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should consider what their musical goals are. Why are you wanting to learn to play? Is it a hobby, do you plan to make a career of this, do just want to learn how to play songs, do you want a thorough understanding of how music works? All these and more will help your instructor pick the best learning path for you.
