Mark Wilder Guitar Lessons

My teaching approach:

I am an experienced, qualified, and patient teacher whos been teaching guitar since 2003. I have a degree in Music Theory and Jazz Studies from IU Jacob School of Music, and did my graduate work at Berklee in Boston. I have taught as adjunct faculty at IUPUI and Butler. I provide in home lessons to cut down on your need to travel, as well as lessons at our office off of 86th St. in Nora. I have taught students of all ages and experience levels. Classes are typically 1 hr, but I also offer 30 min lesson bus as well. Pricing varies with location.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

The introductory lesson is usually a meet and greet type of situation. Goals are discussed, and any previous experience is taken into consideration. Future lesson formats are discussed, but the first lessons varies greatly depending on each student.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

Lesson plans are built on an individual basis to meet the needs of each student. In general the lessons start with a warm up exercise, then previous material and homework is discussed. Previous skills are retouched on and built upon. New material is introduced and gone over, and recommended playing exercises are given out
