I studied music at Aberdeen University, and have been teaching piano, keyboard and music theory since 1988. I founded and direct the New Albany Community Orchestra, and am the President of Kentuckiana Association of Musicians and Singers. I perform regularly, both as a classical pianist and a band member.
I passionately believe that everyone should get a fair chance to enjoy music. With encouragement, patience and kindness, I have enabled many individuals to do just that.
There is no greater joy for me that seeing someone enjoy playing music - especially if they thought they would never be able to play an instrument. When they see how much people enjoy hearing them play, it's an added bonus.
Professional, experienced and a wonderful, fun teacher to my daughter. She really enjoys her lesson time and is fond of Owen.
The first lesson is free, to make sure we are a good fit. We will figure out together what it is you want to achieve - do you want to play in a rock band, or at a classical concert? The lessons will be designed to work at your own pace - you won't be either bored because it's too easy or frustrated because it's too hard. You'll get to play songs right from the first lesson, and I'll give you plenty of opportunities to perform alone or in a group if you want to.
