BJ Leichter Guitar Lessons
About
My teaching approach:
Although learning an instrument may come more easily to some people than others, I believe anyone can learn to play guitar. I have been playing guitar almost every day since I was about ten years old, and, personally, I've always been very good at playing songs just by listening to them. But whether you have either never played a musical instrument, just started, or have been playing for years, and have any interest in learning(about) songs, chords, scales, improvising, soloing, music theory, or writing songs, I would be more than happy to teach you.
My influences are:
My dad is definitely my biggest influence in guitar. He taught me how to play, and I always like to jam with him.
My guitar lessons take place in:
The teacher's studio or the student's home
Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas:

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:
On the first lesson, I asses the student's playing level based on what chords they already know, where they are with strumming, and how well they change chords. Then I just go from there based on what the student is interested in.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
I have found that the things I like to teach in a day often take years to master, so usually I try to give "assignments" that are manageable to practice in a week; even if it means the student won't have perfected it by then.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
The ideal student to me is someone who is just really passionate about playing music. Someone who could sit and play for hours on end, and practices every day like myself!
