My teaching approach:
My approach is to put emphasis on helping students play the type of guitar and music they enjoy. Whatever the style or genre of music that is my job is to help them get to where they envision themselves as a guitar, bass, or mandolin player. I also have 20 plus years of touring experience with Nashville Recording Artists, Including; Skeeter Davis, Jim Ed Brown, Kitty Wells, and currently with David Lee Murphy and Ty Brown.
My influences are:
Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Brent Mason, Randy Rhoads, Jimi Hendrix....many many more!

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:
I typically have them tell me what they'd like to get out of lessons. Are they wanting to learn to read music or just improve their skills to play by ear. Is there a particular style or genre of music with guitar they enjoy and want to concentrate on? Basically I like to do some fact finding of what the student really wants to achieve and work on.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
A lesson with me might entail, listening to a song the student likes and taking steps to teach it to them. Helping them develop their reading skills. Giving them fundamental scales and licks to develop their overall playing skills.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
Someone who is passionate about the instrument but also is willing to practice and work on the things we cover in the lessons.
