Middletown Academy Of Music
About
Our purpose in musical education is to guide students in experiencing all the benefits of
learning music, loving music and expressing music.
Our path to musical discovery is built on the pillars of
LEARNING, CREATIVITY and SUCCESS.
We believe that:
LEARNING is CULTIVATED through the dedication of teachers, the discipline of students and the encouragement of parents.
CREATIVITY is NURTURED through a strong foundation of learning, exploring new ideas and knowing that nothing is impossible.
SUCCESS is FOSTERED when learning and creativity meet in an environment that promotes a love for music and a desire to achieve.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We always begin with a free introductory lesson. It is important that every student has a teacher they are comfortable with. The introductory lesson offers a chance for student/teacher to "interview" each other and understand the goals and expectations involved for both individuals. From there, the teacher will recommend appropriate materials for the student, schedule an agreeable lesson time and begin planning future lessons for the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We strongly believe that a well-rounded, experienced teacher is always the best fit for any student. All our teachers have received, or are in the process of receiving, a music degree in the instrument they are teaching.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The standard private lesson is 30 minutes. Longer lessons can be given at the recommendation of the teacher.
Our pricing per lesson is as follows:
- $27.50 for 30-minutes
- $37.50 for 45-minutes
- $47.50 for 60 minutes
Our tuition price is based on a three-month seasonal quarter that consists of 10 private lessons. New registrations are priced according to the number of lessons remaining in each quarter. Contact the Academy for more information.
How did you get started teaching?
Each teacher at the Middletown Academy has played their instrument from childhood and pursued a career in music by receiving a degree in either performance or pedagogy. We are active in the musical community as performers, accompanists, educators and music directors.
What types of students have you worked with?
Each of us work with students of all ages, levels and styles. We teach beginner, intermediate and advanced levels as well as styles ranging from classical to contemporary.
