I am a full time professional musician/teacher and can help you get the most out of your lessons. Either private lessons or via my downloadable videos. I work with children and adults and teach beginners through advanced students. Lessons include Theory,Blues,Pop, Classical, Country, Gospel and Composition.
I have given numerous piano workshops at The University Of Louisville, Indiana University Southeast, Owensboro Community College, Bellarmine College Eastern Kentucky University and The Jefferson County Public Schools to name a few.
I currently perform at several venues around Louisville in addition to my teaching duties.
I am also a composer and have one of my pieces used in the hit tv show "Breaking Bad"

This is not work to me. I sincerly love what I do. I enjoy helping folks learn to play the piano and see the look in their eyes when they have accomplished something they never thought they could do.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Discerning what their specific goals are. Each student has his her own separate lesson plan. I do not use any of the usual method books. I have thousands of songs and lesson plans that I choose depending on the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a full time teacher for over 30 years and have given piano workshops in several colleges and universities in the area..University of Louisville, Bellarmine College, Easter Ky University,Etown Community College, Ashland Comunnity College, Norther Ky University and the Jefferson co Public schools to name a few.

Yes I charge a flat rate of $80.00 per month and furnish all necessary materials..
How did you get started teaching?
A local music store heard me in a band and hired me as a teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
Children and adults. I also work with children with learning disabilites such as autism.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I perform regularly in retirement homes and am the keyboardist for a large trade show at Freedom Hall in Louisville. once a year.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the teacher can also play well and is able to inpart his or her knowledge in a way that is understandable.
