Very versatile with teaching style. My son (age 15) enjoys the way he mixes guitar instruction with music history and interesting stories. My son looks forward to each lesson and enjoys spending time with Mr. Kimbrell.

I took lessons from Bill for a little more than a yea. I must say that I enjoyed them very much. He had infinite patience with me. You have to understand that I picked up the guitar at the age of 70. Hard to teach old dogs new tricks. I had to suspend lessons due to an injury to my left shoulder but will resume as soon as I heal. I highly recommend Bill to both young and old.

    Frequently asked questions

First, I try and get an idea of where the student is in his or her playing. Though many are beginners, some already have some experience in playing. From that point I can put together what is needed to help improve the students playing.

Years of playing and teaching all styles of music. I've played in all types of bands. I attended GIT in Hollywood as well.

Store lessons are $25 a half hour. My home rates are $45 a half hour and $65 an hour.

I was asked by a store owner to be an instructor.

All types. I've taught special needs students. I've taught a student with Parkinson's disease on the advise of her doctor.

Find someone who can teach. The are a lot of folks that can play guitar pretty well but, when it comes to teaching, lack the ability. Someone who has been at it for a while is a good indication of skill at teaching.

What their goals are in playing guitar. Do they wish to just play for pleasure? Do they want to play in their church? Do they want to be a "Rock Star"? I think most want to do it for the love of music.
